Mentoring/Discipleship Policy

Mentoring and discipleship are very effective development methods we employ at OCM to assist One-Christers to reflect, identify and achieve their spiritual, academic, social, and relational goals through the transfer of learning into the ministry, family life, academic endeavours etc. The learning relationships that develop through mentoring and discipleship support all One-Christers to develop their gifts, skills, and knowledge first for their relationship with Jesus and second for their life pursuits.

SAFEGUARDING POLICY

Who are our Mentors?

Our mentors are men and women of God who have a wealth of knowledge and experience in various fields of discipline but more importantly, are committed Christians who have formed a relationship with Jesus Christ our Saviour. They do not only equip to help our young ones develop a better and closer relationship with Jesus, but to help them chart a good life course.

All our mentors are DBS Checked to ensure no wolf is let in the sheep pen.

Who can be mentored?

Only Intermediate One-Christers to Adult One-Christers can ask to be mentored. All One-Christers below the age of 18 years will have to obtain written permission from their parent or legal guardian for them to be assigned a mentor. Parents of children below the age of 18 years can request to meet the mentor of their ward before, during and after their mentorship. Adults however can ask to be mentored without the permission of their guardians or parents. Please refer to our Children Safeguarding Policy.
